3rd Convention on Energy Conservation (C-EnCo-2026) – A Grand Success! ⚡

The 3rd Convention on Energy Conservation (C-EnCo-2026), organized by the QCFI Nagpur Chapter, was successfully held on Sunday, 28 June 2026 at Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur.

This year’s event marked a proud milestone as the third consecutive annual Energy Convention organized by QCFI Nagpur chapter, reaffirming our commitment to promoting energy conservation, sustainability, and continuous improvement across industries.

We were honoured to have Mr. Rajendra Thakre, Plant Head, Ashok Leyland Limited, Bhandara, as the Chief Guest and Mr. Kumar Kislay, Plant head, Elken South Asia Pvt ltd, Nagpur for the inaugural function and presentation session.

The valedictory function in the second half was graced by Mr.Vivek Rokde, Chief Engineer, Khaperkheda Mahagenco plant, as the Chief Guest and Dr. Rajiv Khaire, Associate Professor andIn- charge Industry Institution Interaction, RBU Nagpur and Vice Chairman, QCFI Nagpur Chapter.

A total of 22 teams participated through physical presentations, while 12 teams joined virtually with total 16 organizations represented. The case studies demonstrated practical energy conservation initiatives implemented through the active involvement of operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams, resulting in significant savings in electrical energy, fuel, and other utilities. Equally inspiring were the intangible outcomes enhanced teamwork, employee engagement, innovation, self-learning, leadership development, and a stronger culture of continuous improvement.

Addressing the gathering, Mr.Rajendra Thakare emphasised the importance of energy conservation, sustainable development, and the effective use of technology. He said that Vivek Shroty’s book on energy conservation would serve as a valuable resource for future generations.

Mr. Vivek A. Shrouty, Chairman, QCFI Nagpur Chapter urged industries and society to adopt green energy on a larger scale, convert waste into useful energy, and increase the use of clean and sustainable energy sources to safeguard the planet for future generations in the face of climate change and environmental challenges. Mr.Vivek Joshi, Secretary, QCFI Nagpur Chapter provided detailed information about the conference and expressed his views on preventing energy leakages in industries. He also announced that an International Cement Conference would be organised on 5th and 6th September 2026.

Mr. A. K. Jain,Chairman Emeritus highlighted the importance of conserving existing energy resources while continuously innovating to develop sustainable energy solutions. He added that saving energy is as important as generating it. He stressed the need to prioritise energy conservation while expanding the use of renewable and alternative energy sources such as solar, wind, and bioenergy.

Mr. Ajay Nigam, Advisor, QCFI Nagpur Chapter delivered an insightful presentation on India’s energy scenario, explaining the journey of crude oil, the country’s dependence on energy imports, and the initiatives being taken to strengthen national energy security. Mr. Deo Sharma & Mr. Manohar Hedaoo Advisor, QCFI Nagpur Chapter graced the convention with their valuable presence and guidance.

Another highlight of the convention was the launch of a new book authored by Mr. Vivek Shrouty, titled “The ESG Revolution-Transforming Business for a Sustainable Future”.

Mr. Ajay Nigam presented a concise and engaging overview of the book, introducing its key concepts to the audience.

The conference judges were felicitated during the programme.

Mr Jagdeep Nigam skilfully moderated the expert panel discussion.

The valedictory session was attended by Vivek Rokde, Chief Engineer, Thermal Power Station, Khaperkheda, as the chief guest. He called upon industries, educational institutions, and society to work collectively towards achieving energy conservation.

The event was gracefully anchored by Ms. Sasmita Sethi, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the day. Mr. A K Chaturvedi and Mr. Vaibhav Gadgil resourcefully managed the registration of the participant and dignitaries of event, Mr. Surendra Nishanrao efficiently managed the participants’ hospitality. Mr. Abhay Subnis coordinated the Knowledge Corner, where books on 5S, Kaizen, Quality Circles, Lean Manufacturing, and other improvement methodologies were displayed and distributed. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Mr. Praveen Singh and Mr. Abhay Ghirare, while Mr. Laxman Udan, Mr. Bharat Kalambhe and Mr. Sandeep Gupta ensured smooth presentation management throughout the event. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to RBU, all participating teams, dignitaries, mentors, jury members, sponsors, exhibitors, students of RBU, volunteers, delegates, and every member of the QCFI Nagpur Chapter, whose untiring efforts, dedication, and teamwork made C-EnCo-2026 a resounding success.
